How to Upload Your 3D Model

  1. In order to upload your 3D file to vCAD, you need to navigate to the Projects page located inside your account at app.vcad.com

  2. Click the Upload button:

  3.  You will now be presented with the upload page where you can convert your 3D file into the vCAD software.

    1. What type of file are you uploading?
      • Select from the dropdown list the type of file you are uploading. Specifying the file type allows vCAD to finely tune the conversion process. FBX, OBJ, SketchUp 2014, Revit, and Tiltbrush are supported options.
        • Note: If you did not select FBX or OBJ, then skip to step SkySphere. Otherwiseadditional fields need to be filled in.
          • Exported Model Units
            1. From the dropdown select the units your file was designed in. Refer to your 3D design software's documentation for instructions on finding this.
          • Exported Model Axis
            1. Select the axis your file was designed in. Refer to your 3D design software's documentation for instructions on finding this.
    2. SkySphere
    3. Browse to select your file
      • Select the 3D file that is located on your computer. If you need instructions on how to export from your 3D design software, follow our Exporting Guide.

  4. Once you fill out the fields, your upload page may look something similar to this:

  5. Click the Continue button:

  6. Finally, your file will upload and begin conversion.
